COVID-19 Update!

Some information for our in-person wedding guests...

1. Masks will be required for our guests (ages 2 and up) inside the church. Please plan to bring your masks with you! In case you forget, we will have a few extra disposable ones available at check in. 2. Seats in the sanctuary will be assigned. When you arrive, you will be greeted and directed to the right section, and then an usher will take you to your seat. Once you are seated, please plan to remain in your seats until you are dismissed following the ceremony. 3. The wedding is scheduled to begin at 2:30, but seating may take a little extra time since all guests will need to wait to be seated. If you plan to arrive closer to 2:00 than 2:30, it will help us ensure an on time start for the ceremony! 4. As of right now, there is a chance of rain on Saturday. As you are waiting to be seated, you may not always have overhead cover. You may want to plan to bring an umbrella! 5. Once you are seated, you will find a bag on your pew. This bag will contain all your goodies for the reception! Although you will not need it during the ceremony, don't forget to bring it with you when you leave! 6. Following the ceremony, you will be given directions for the reception and dismissed pew-by-pew. An usher will direct you when it is your turn to exit! 7. For the drive-through reception, we are requesting that everyone leave the church parking lot and circle the block to line up. There will be signs directing you! For directions, go to https://wedding.thedavs.com/. You can sign our virtual guestbook there as well! Thank you so much for helping us keep everyone as safe as possible. We cannot WAIT to see you and celebrate with you!

Our Story

In May 2019, after attending the wedding of a good friend who met her new husband online, I (Bethany) figured there was no time like the present to give online dating a try. Although a daunting task, I did my best to create a profile that was honest and thorough. Once complete, messages began to appear in my inbox, but on May 28th, I received a friendly message from a seemingly great match in Tennessee, someone I actually wanted to talk to. On May 30th, I sent my first response to Kevin. NOTE: The two day delay was not from lack of interest but the fact that I couldn't reply until I started paying. Sticker shock was the problem! We started writing back and forth each day, and it quickly became clear that we had a lot in common. I was pretty smitten, and we were both ready to get together, but living in separate states required some scheduling and patience. Once we found a day and time that worked, I suggested meeting in Asheville, halfway between Jefferson City and Greenville. I figured we would visit the Biltmore or the arboretum, but Kevin had a more unique idea--an apiary! I'm sure you can imagine what some friends had to say. "You're meeting someone you met online out of town at a BEE FARM?" "The bee farm is called KILLER BEES apiary?" "Will anyone know where you are?" Others were worried, but I was excited for a new adventure and even more excited to meet Kevin after chatting for more than a month! I arrived at the middle-of-nowhere travel center where we would be shuttled to the farm (yes--I know it sounds sketchy) about 10 minutes before Kevin. I was nervous, but that all went away when he arrived. He was as polite and sweet as I expected him to be, and we had the best time observing bees and sampling and bottling honey. The apiary tour ended at noon, but we ended up spending the day together. He came to Greenville a week later, and soon, we were getting together every weekend! Kevin proposed on February 28, 2020, and I was over the moon to say YES!
